Francis Rooney Obituary

Francis W. "Frank" Rooney, 84
1941 - 2026
Lynn, MA - Francis William "Frank" Rooney, a beloved resident of Lynn, MA and Bristol, NH, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026, surrounded by the unwavering love of his family.
He dedicated 63 years of his life to his devoted wife, Felicia, and was a proud father to his two daughters, Karen and Colleen. He was a cherished brother to Jack, Bob, Jimmy, and Maryanne. He also leaves many extended family members including, Sheila, Briana, Gabbi & Jon, Nico, Franki and Charlotte.
His educational journey began at St. Mary's School in Lynn, and he later dedicated 44 years of his life to General Electric. His strong work ethic and unwavering commitment were highly regarded by his colleagues. For 16 years he held the rank of #1 Ironworker and he was a longtime member of the IUE-CWA, Local 201 Union.
Faith held a profound place in his life. He was deeply involved in various activities at St. Mary's in Lynn, including fundraising efforts, serving on the athletic board, and being a board member of the St. Theresa's House and St. Mary's Plaza. He raised his family at Sacred Heart Parish, where he remained actively engaged in both church and school communities.
Frank's greatest passion was the home he built on Newfound Lake in Bristol, NH. It became a cherished gathering spot for his family and friends. He found immense joy in the beauty of the lake, the majestic mountains, and the close-knit Newfound Lake community. Whether he was boating on the lake, helping his Camelot Acres friends, attending beach gatherings, or making his daily trips to Shackett's Store, Frank's happiness knew no bounds in Bristol. He was particularly active in CARA and cherished the friendships he formed there.
He was always there to lend a helping hand to his neighbors, take on projects, and bring people together. Summers nights were often spent on the back porch watching the Boston Red Sox. Fall and winter Sundays were reserved for cheering on the New England Patriots, surrounded by family, friends, with all his favorite gameday fixings.
Frank will be remembered for his warmth, loyalty to those he loved, strong work ethic, and the pride he carried for his family and community. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and countless treasured memories.
