I came to know Bishop Roque last Fall 2018 by the Magazine from Archdiocese of Military Service which I supported. Admiring for his Holiness and his service for Our Vietnamese, for his soldiers who he cared for their souls entire his life, for Catholic Church and For the Lord, especially with his utmost peaceful and holy life, I cried with the blessing the Lord had given us Bishop Roque.
I intended to visit him but i let things get on my way and when I am ready to visit, I learned that he passed away only couple weeks ago. I now cried again for no fulfilling my promise to thank Bishop in person and for us loosing the holy man on the earth though we all know when the Lord calls, we must go for HIM knowing what is best
I still keep the magazine with his loving and happy smile, standing next to his soldier
We will all hope to meet him someday

My deepest sympathy to the Roque Family. I have not know the bishops very long., I met him through my dearest neighbor Claire. I remember, I was with my young grandson Johnny, we went across the street to say hello to miss Claire. When she introduced me to the Bishops , my grandson Johnny grabbed the Bishops leg to say hello and Bishops patted him on his head and was so happy to meet John . He told me that children were one of God's special Blessings. I can see why my friend ,had a special love for this Holy,Holy man of God . I will always remember him in that moment. I know that he is in the arms of Christ and we will always Romberg him as a true friend.

I only knew Bishop Roque for a short time. We crossed paths, when I was the nurse of one of his family members. While this must have been about a dozen years ago, I never forgot Bishop Roque ; he left that strong an impression on me. I found him to be humble, unpretentious & very kind. He had a spiritual aura about him, and his personality was magnetic. We corresponded a few times, and I felt honored that he took time for me, but I was not surprised. He was, for me, the real deal, and it was a real pleasure to have met him. I've often thought of him, and prayed for him. To his family, and niece, Mary, whom I remember, my deepest condolences.
May he find peace and solace, nestled in the arms of Mary, gazing on the face of Jesus. A truly remarkable man; a truly remarkable Bishop, may his light continue to shine ....
He was truly remarkable....

Dear Bishop Roque and Family, I have known you all for so long and always felt so privileged to know you, to dine with you and Sue and Buzz, to learn from your stories, wisdom, and love, to attend your many Masses and listen to your words, to gain from your tone of voice, and to even receive your prayers throughout my life. I have always thought how lucky we were to be "Edgewood" boys, to be members of St. Paul's, to love St. Patrick and to be Native Sons of our Beloved Irish Mothers, and to be believers in our men and women serving in the military, and, to see their mission to bring peace to our world. Dearest Bishop Roque, since I have been a young boy you have been a hero to me and so many more! Your life inspires all of us! May your loving soul rest in eternal peace, enjoy the beatific vision, and be embraced by our Blessed Lord, His Holy Mother, and all the Angels and Saints. Thank you, Dear Bishop, for being my friend and for all you have taught me too. His Grace & Joy~ Love, Bobby Burns P.S. May the road rise up to meet you~

It was an honor and a privilege to know Bishop Francis Roque. When he entered the room or was in your presence there was a feeling of love and a light that glowed through the room. I always enjoyed are many talks, and I will always remember how he was there for my family when my step dad John McDonald was so sick and even during his last days and continued to be a wonderful friend to our family, especially my mother Claire McDonald-Riviello. We will see you again Bishop, sending all my love , prayers and condolences to friends and family.
