Francis Schlenner Obituary

Francis Schlenner

Francis "Phrone" Schlenner,a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, in Allentown, PA, at the age of 72.

Born on June 20, 1953, in Coaldale, PA, Phrone was the beloved son of the late Walter and Theresa (Lazorick) Schlenner. His warm smile and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Phrone graduated from Jim Thorpe High School in the class of 1972, where he formed many lifelong friendships. In February 1974, he married the love of his life, Nancy (Gaughan) Schlenner, and together they built a life filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories.

Phrone was a dedicated truck driver for Nyleve Bridge in Emmaus, PA, for many years, retiring in 2011. His strong work ethic and friendly demeanor made him well-respected among his colleagues and within the community.

A man of many interests, Phrone was an avid NASCAR fan, never missing a race and always ready to share his insights on the latest track events. Family gatherings were brightened by his presence, and he could often be found with a Keystone Light in hand, surrounded by loved ones. His grandchildren, Megan and Max Schlenner of Jim Thorpe, were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

He was the epitome of friendliness, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand. Those who knew Phrone will remember him as a gentle soul, whose kindness touched the hearts of many.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife, Nancy; his sisters, Susan Berezniak and her husband Jack of State College, PA, and Marie Miller and her husband Frank of Jim Thorpe; and his brother, Walter Schlenner and his wife Fay of Jim Thorpe. Phrone was predeceased by his son, Francis "Franny" Schlenner, who passed away earlier in the year on July 29, 2025.

Phrone's legacy will live on through the stories shared by his family and friends, the laughter he inspired, and the love he gave so freely. His life was a testament to the joy that can be found in simple pleasures and the importance of cherishing every moment with those we hold dear. As we say goodbye to Phrone, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us in the days to come.

Services will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025 in the David J. Stianche Funeral Home 123 Center St., Jim Thorpe at 12 p.m. Calling hours will be 10 a.m. until the time of the services in the funeral home. Interment will be private. Online condolences at www.stianchefh.com.
