Francis Robert Semenick

Francis R. Semenick, a resident of Tawas (Whitney Township), passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, age 85 years. Francis was born in Buffalo, New York on October 11, 1940 to the late Peter and Rosetta (Gassman) Semenick. After high school graduation, he attended RIT in New York and graduated in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Francis worked for General Motors for 30 years, primarily as a Maintenance Supervisor, retiring in May of 1993. In his free time, he absolutely enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. Francis also enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and friends, and helping others any way he could. Francis is survived by his 2 sons, Keith Semenick of AuGres, and Scott Semenick of Vassar; several nieces and nephews in Buffalo, New York and also in Florida. Francis is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Semenick on September 13, 2018. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and his family will host a time of gathering at the Buresh Funeral Home in AuGres on Monday, December 22nd from 2:00 to 8:00 PM. There will be a memorial service held at the Arenac Christ United Methodist Church in January, with a date and time to be announced soon.
