Francis Edward "Frank" Swift, 79 years of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the Highland District Hospital ER. He was born at Dayton on March 14, 1932 the son of Paul and Ceile (Gouffant) Swift Sr. Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of thirty years, Fran Swift, two brothers and three sisters. Frank's life was filled with love, peace and harmony. His love for of God's creation and beings was unconditional. He shared this with his family, friends, community and world through his many creative works. His recent book promoting peace, The Planet Gazimbo in Galaxy Zamz, was on exhibit at the Dayton International Peace Museum and the Missing Peace art Space where he volunteered his time to foster and promote world peace. Frank & Fran also co-founded the first non-profit holistic health education group in Ohio to share with others the power of connecting with one's spirit for peace of mind as the core element of a healthy body and emotions. Frank also was a talented artist painting portraits, murals, cartoon and commercial art which often carried powerful messages like his UnRealy Feelie characters that shared with children and adults how to let go of negative disabling feelings. He was a song writer and through his lyrics shared the importance of being open to looking at things and people with a "different point of view". Frank's spirit, passion, and powerful messages will live on through all of us that have had the opportunity to know this incredible soul. He is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Ed & Jenny Swift of Dayton; Mike and Laura Swift of Texas; daughters and sons in law, Letty and Bill Allen of New Vienna; Mary and Steve Bilowski of Hillsboro; Peggy and Ron Shafer of Hillsboro; Laura Catron of Hillsboro; daughter Mollly Swift and friend Linda Uzzel of Arizona; step sons, Vince (Vicki) Martin of Cincinnati; Steve (Jane) Martin of Minnesota; step daughterKaren (Mark) Maudlin of Westchester; 30 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and his first wife, Pat Fields. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 11:00 AM 1:00 PM at the Life Pointe Church in Kettering with Dr. Fred Wilson and Pastor Katrina Wilson officiating Services at 1:00 PM. Entombment will be in the David's Cemetery at Kettering. The Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Peace Museum, 208 W. Monument Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45402.
