Francisca "Frances" Flores Postel was born on July 1, 1933, in Goliad, Texas. Family surrounded her when the Lord called her on July 3, 2024. Her loving and devoted husband, Emilio of 68 years, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her greatest joy. Frances loved cooking, baking cakes, singing, dancing, playing guitar, and working in her garden. She was a proud homemaker who loved treating her family and friends to watermelon, ice cream and homemade cakes. She made sure to include everyone during birthdays and special occasions. She would listen and offer a helping hand to others, even if it meant sacrificing her own time and needs. She had a contagious smile, and her favorite motto was "Laughter is the best medicine." Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family, and they will forever hold dear the memories that they shared with her. As an adult, she learned to play the guitar and took computer classes at the Commander's House Adult and Senior Center in San Antonio. She took immense joy in taking part in guitar recitals, where she could share her love of music with others.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and providing strength and comfort throughout her journey. Frances was a member of the Catholic Center for Charismatic Renewal and attended weekly prayer meetings with the "Upper Room" Prayer Group followed by Mass at St. Henry's Catholic Church. Over the years, Frances and her husband, Emilio, sang in the church choir and played guitar at Mass. They attended numerous cursillos (Catholic retreats) and took part with the Movimiento Familiar Cristiano Catolico. Her unwavering belief in God and her dedication to her faith were clear in the way she lived, offering prayers, kindness, and love to everyone around her. Her spirituality was a source of inspiration for her family and friends, and her commitment to her faith left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Frances is survived by her loving husband Emilio Cabrera Postel, Sr.; daughters Linda Postel (San Antonio, Texas), Mary Frances Postel (San Antonio, Texas), Elizabeth "Liz" Postel (Tony) Guerra (Marion, Texas); son: Emilio III (Jo Anna) Postel (San Antonio, Texas); sisters Olga Flores Vara (Pflugerville, Texas), Maria "Mary" Flores Martinez (Corpus Christi, Texas), Lidia Flores (Jesus) Garcia (Bentonville, Arkansas); grandchildren Tracy Postel (Ricky) Campa (San Antonio, Texas), Emilio Jason Postel IV (†Lori) (San Antonio, Texas), Brittany Postel (Andrew) Resendiz (San Antonio, Texas), Jessica Postel (San Antonio, Texas), Brandon Banda (San Antonio, Texas), Steven (Adrianna) Banda (San Antonio, Texas), Brianna Guerra (Ryon) Gilbreath (Gunnison, Colorado), Lauren Guerra (Travis) Freed (Ewa Beach, Hawaii) Amanda Guerra (Daniel) Hernandez (San Marcos), Madelyn "Maddy" Guerra (Marion, Texas); eighteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
