With deep love and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Francisco Malinsky Castro, age 56, who lost his battle to cancer on February 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Francisco, lovingly known as Paco, was born on February 7, 1970, in Neptune, New Jersey, to Francisco and Carmen Castro. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and uncle. Known for his strength, dedication, humor, and unwavering will to live, Francisco left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
A passionate musician and author, he used his voice and his words to uplift others, drawing from his own strength and resilience to inspire those facing their toughest battles. He found joy in video games, movies, and television series, moments he especially treasured when shared with his family, whom he loved above all else.
With a master's degree in psychology and a bachelor's degree in business management, Paco carried himself with the presence of a professor and the heart of a warrior. As the fearless son of an Olympian, he embodied strength and resilience, earning the nickname "Iron Giant" from a close friend.
Throughout his five year battle with cancer, he shared his story of strength and survival on a news channel and several podcasts, using his experience to inspire hope in others. He also expressed his journey through his rap album N.E.D: No Expiration Date and his book of the same name. At the time of his passing, he was working on a second book and second album titled Race Against Time, continuing his mission to uplift and empower those facing their own battles.
Each day, he remained committed to guiding, protecting, and uplifting those closest to him.
Francisco is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Castro; his children, Dominic Castro, Francisco Miguel Castro, Isabella Castro, Sophia Castro, and María Victoria Amor; his grandson, Dante Castro; his sister, Sylvia Vigo Smith; and his niece, Rosalina Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 21, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Funeraria San Juan Funeral Homes (3189 S. John Young Parkway). Family and friends are invited to attend and honor Francisco's life.
