Francisco "Frank" Curiel Martinez, 76 of Abilene, Texas has gone to be with the Lord on October 30, 2024.
Born on December 15, 1947, he was a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Born in Ciudad Mante, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He was the son of Genaro Martinez and Eufrocina Placencia Gonzalez. He graduated from Port Isabel High School.
Francisco was stationed at Dyess Air Force Base, Abilene, Texas, where he met the love of his life, Isabel Diaz. They married April 20, 1974. They spent 39 beautiful years together.
He dedicated many years of his life working before retiring. His commitment to service and his country was a source of pride and inspiration to all who knew him. Upon his retirement, employment included Lee Medical Supply, Mesa Springs, and the City of Abilene.
With a warm spirit he was a devoted Catholic at Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. His joy in life included mowing and watering the lawn. He had a love/hate relationship with the Dallas Cowboys. He had an endless love for hot sauce and coffee. He loved spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his big heart and love for people. He always wanted to help everyone even though he didn't know them. He had a funny sense of humor and great love for life.
Francisco is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Isabel Martinez and siblings Tomasa Hernandez and Juan Gonzalez.
He is survived by his daughters Elizabeth Pallarez and Angie Gallardo. He had six grandchildren Adriana Clark (AJ), Alex Gallardo, Tristan Pallarez, Isabella Pallarez, Alijah Martinez and Manuel Soto Jr IV. He is also survived by several brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Thursday November 7, 2024 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Rosary Service will be held Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 7:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home on 5750 Hwy 277 South Abilene, Texas. Funeral Mass will be Friday, November 8, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church 5410 Buffalo Gap Rd. Abilene, Texas. He will be laid to rest at Elmwood Memorial Park.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all who provided support during this difficult time. He leaves us with the wisdom of his years and the love he shared with all.
