Françoise C. Laderach, a long-time resident of Valley Cottage, New York, died in Poughkeepsie, New York on January 3, 2025. She was 91 years old.
Françoise was born in Geneva, Switzerland in October 1933, the only daughter of Marcel and Adèle Tripet. She grew up in Geneva and graduated from the University of Geneva in 1952. She taught elementary school. Françoise married Paul Laderach in July 1956.
She emigrated to the United States in 1963 and taught French in a Philadelphia private school. The family moved to Valley Cottage. Françoise loved America and traveled extensively. She kept busy with tutoring, volunteering at Nyack Hospital, and running a French literature group.
Françoise is survived by her son Christopher Laderach, daughter-in-law Maria and grandchildren Ian and Sophia.
The family would like to thank the doctors, and nursing staff at Vassar Brothers Medical Center as well as Hudson Valley Hospice for their kindness, empathy and thoughtful care.
A Memorial Service will take place on Sunday January 12, 2025 at 1 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill 1089 Main St. Fishkill.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
