Rev. Frank William Abrahamsen

Rev. Frank William Abrahamsen, age 75, of Pine Mountain, Georgia, passed away on October 16, 2025.
Born on August 17, 1950, in Jacksonville, Florida, Frank was the son of the late William Loadholtz and Betty Ewing. He graduated high school in Charleston, South Carolina, and went on to dedicate 37 years to a career in retail before answering a higher calling to serve in the ministry of Jesus Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Cloutier "Patti" Abrahamsen; children, Frank William Abrahamsen, II. (Elizabeth), Dawn Cole (Donald), Melissa Thompson (Tyler) and Michelle Abrahamsen (Richard); siblings, Alan Lee Abrahamsen (Effie), Donna Glick (Jeff) and Cathy Thibideau (Mark); 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; step-mother, Betty Loadholtz; nieces, nephews and extended family.
Known affectionately as the "POWER man" or "the man with the hats," Rev. Abrahamsen's ministry was bold, compassionate, and ever-present. He was often seen handing out hats emblazoned with messages like Jesus Saves or Forgiven, and he shared the Gospel wherever he went - whether at a gas station, grocery store, hospital, or restaurant. Witnessing was as natural to him as breathing.
In Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Frank was ordained while serving as the Evangelistic Outreach Minister of Hollywood Baptist Church. He also served as a Chaplain at the Waterfront Mission and later founded Praise and Prayer Ministry. His journey eventually brought him to Georgia, where he helped establish New Covenant Baptist Church in Pine Mountain. His passion for outreach continued through his work in prison ministries at the Troup County Jail and LaGrange Transition Center, and through service at Baptist Tabernacle Church. As a bi-vocational Minister he also served full time as the Safety Manager for National Building Contractors in Conyers, Georgia.
A gifted writer, Frank authored nearly 30 Christian novels, Bible studies, and a devotional in his spare time - further extending his ministry through the written word.
Rev. Abrahamsen was a man of deep faith, boundless energy, and a heart for people. His presence was a blessing to all who knew him, and he will be profoundly missed.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Baptist Tabernacle Church on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 2:00 pm. Family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm on Friday at the church.
