Frank Ballard, 81, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025. Frank was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and grandpa. He enjoyed spending time with his family and creating everlasting memories with his grandchildren. Frank enjoyed watching Cowboy movies and was an avid John Wayne fan. Frank will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
He was born on February 27, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky to Lawrence and Nellie (Osborn) Ballard. He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Ballard, Sr.; mother, Nellie Ballard; son, Wayne Ballard; wife, Sherry Ballard; brothers, Hilbert Osborn; Lawrence Ballard, Jr., and sister, Shelia Wright Ward.
Frank is survived by his loving family, son, Frank . Ballard; daughter, Melissa Taylor; siblings, Mildred Ballard Fox, Charles Eugene Ballard, Joseph Raymond Fenwick, Sr., Ednell "Vonnie" Wright Lawson, Ronald Wright Osborn, Donald Wright Osborn, Timothy Tyrus Wright; 8 grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
The family requests that contributions in Frank’s memory be made to the American Cancer Society.
