On Friday, July 19, 2024, our beloved Frank J. Barone, loving husband, father of two, grandfather of one and great grandfather of two beautiful youngsters, brother and cherished uncle, passed away at the age of 83.
Frank was born on October 5, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY to Anthony and Rose (DiLorenzo) Barone. He received his degree to become a funeral director from the Mc Allister School of Embalming in September of 1964 and ran a successful funeral home business for decades bearing his name. Prior to becoming a funeral director, he was famously known in his neighborhood as Frisco Frank as he owned a tattoo parlor on Avenue D in Brooklyn. On June 28, 1980, he married Camille Carro. Together they raised two children Deanna and Christopher.
Frank served as a 4th degree Knight in the assembly of the Knights of Columbus LaSalle Council, Brooklyn New York for 59 years. He was kind and generous to those that crossed his path. When he wasn't serving his community, Frank enjoyed vacations with his family and most especially casinos. When he retired, he moved to Florida where he enjoyed a simpler life. He loved Pavarotti,Bocelli and music from his younger years, and looked forward to feeding the ducks in the pond outside his lanai.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife Camille. He is survived by his children, Deanna and Christopher, granddaughter Sabrina, great grandchildren Michael and Camila his brother and sister in law Nicholas F. Barone and Theresa (DeJohn) Barone, nieces and nephews Roseann Santapaola (Barone) and husband Larry Santapaola, Anthony Barone and wife Fortunata Barone (Sander) and four great nephews LJ, Nicholas, Anthony and James.
Visitation and funeral services will be held where his life began and flourished Thursday July 25th 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Frank J. Barone Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 26th at St. Therese of Liseuix Roman Catholic Church at 10am. Internment to follow at the cemetery of the Holy Rood, Old Westbury New York to follow.
