FRANK BOROVIC, age 89, cherished husband of Ana Borovic (nee Kavas) for 64 years; devoted father of Annie Borovic (Dave), Frank Borovic,, Kathy Frangos and John Borovic(deceased); loving grandfather of Maria Iammarino (Nick), Ashley Frangos (Beau), and Jasmin Frangos Kakaris Porter (Alexi); doting great-grandfather of Ivan Iammarino, Owen Iammarino, and Helen Iammarino; treasured son of the late Franc Borovic and Ana Borovic (nee Skafar); and dearest brother of Ana Kociper (Vence), as well as the late Stefan, Stefan, Ivan, and Vence.
Born in Slovenia on February 21, 1935, Frank immigrated to the United States where he built a family of his own and began his career as a baker for Ward Baking Co. and Hough Bakery for over 30 years. A member of the Local 19 Teamster’s Union and KSKJ, Frank was incredibly proud of his Slovenian heritage and would often listen to Slovenian Polka on the Radio.
In his free time, he could be found watching bowling and other local sports, classic western films, and horseracing. What brought him the most joy in life however, was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was undoubtably a family man who had a sharp sense of humor and a generous heart. A perfectionist who was always on time, he was also a handyman with a strong work ethic, able to fix anything he got his hands on. Most importantly though, he was an excellent teacher to everyone around him and encouraged them to never turn down an opportunity to learn. Frank passed away on January 11, 2025, in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy of perseverance and good will towards his fellow man.
Mass of Christian Burial Monday, January 20, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church (8560 Mentor Ave.) at 9:30 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Frank Borovic at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SUNDAY January 19, 2-6 PM.
