Frank R. Bucchino, 91, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on September 27, 2024. Frank was born in Milford, MA on December 17, 1932, the eldest son of Frank Bucchino and Lucy (Izzo) Bucchino. He is predeceased by his brothers; Leo, Fred, Dick, Pat and sister Lucille and leaves behind his brother Nick and his wife Carolyn, sister Theresa and sister-in-law Patti. He is also predeceased by his wife Deborah (Gibbs) Bucchino and first wife, Constance (Bertone) Bucchino. He leaves behind his daughters; Sandra Goglia (Vince), Susan Mahoney (Everett), Sally MacFarland (Brent), Sheila Stoll (Dale), Stacy Bucchino and Erin Bucchino, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Frank served in the Navy as an Aviation Structural Mechanic (ASM2) during the Korean War, aboard the USS Coral Sea, CV-43. He returned from the war and used his technical talents in machinery to carve a successful career for himself. Even after retirement, his passion for mechanics and electronics were a great past-time for him and he could always be found tinkering with something.
Dad loved animals, dogs most especially, and was never without a furry companion at his side. He fed the birds faithfully, loved gardening and his well manicured yard, that he insisted on tending himself even into his nineties, could attest to that. In his younger years, he was an avid fisherman and spent many weekends floating along, rod in hand. In his later years, his interests turned toward technology and he even taught himself how to build his own home computers. Enjoying ice cream treats and devouring lobster are things Dad was always interested in and so they'll always be fond reminders of him to us.
A Funeral Mass will be held on October 29, 2024 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. located at 167 East Falmouth Highway, East Falmouth Ma, immediately followed by a Military Burial at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave. Bourne, MA 02532. Donations can be made in Frank's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
