December 17, 1970 - May 4, 2025

Frank Calu, Jr., 54, of Yardville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton.

Born in Trenton, Frank was a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from Hamilton High School West, Class of 1988, and attend Mercer County Community College where he earned an Associate Degree of Science and completed their Mortuary Science Program with a certificate in Funeral Service. Frank also worked in the Funeral Industry for more than 20 years. He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge in Northfield, NJ, where he generously gave back to the community.

Frank had a big heart, especially when it came to animals. A devoted dog lover, he would have rescued every dog he came across if he could. He generously gave his time and energy volunteering with EASEL and the Greenleaf Pet Hotel & Resort, in Jackson, NJ, always finding joy in helping animals in need.

A true sports fan, Frank had a passion for cheering on his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees, and Philadelphia Flyers. He also found peace and excitement in outdoor activities like fishing and target shooting at the range.

Proud of his Irish heritage, Frank carried that pride with him throughout his life. He was a loving son, nephew, cousin, and friend. His warmth, sense of humor, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Frank was predeceased by his beloved aunt, Maryanne "Mare" Bush. He leaves behind his devoted mother, Donna E. (Lynn) Calu; his aunt, Sharon Mattaliano; uncle, George Bush; and cousins John (Merina) MacCabe, Alicia Lynn, Brian Bush, and Brynlee Bush; a niece and nephew, Declan MacCabe and Ainsley MacCabe. He is also survived by many estranged family members.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville-Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville.

A prayer service will follow at 12:00 p.m.
