Died: August 16, 2025 in Ottawa, IL
Frank M. Cass, 76, of Peru, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Pleasant View Lutheran Home, Ottawa.
Private memorial services will be held at the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru with Rev. Gary Blake, pastor of St. Rose of Lima Parish, Peru officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by the Peru Veterans Memorial Group.
Mr. Cass was born October 27, 1948 in LaSalle to Ferdinand and Barbara (Repsel) Cass. He was a graduate of LaSalle-Peru Township High School, Class of 1966. He married Nancy Potthoff in 1974. They had four children, Doug, Tom, Nick, and Melissa.
Mr. Cass was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Following his service to his country, he worked at J & L Steel as a steelworker for 43 years, retiring in 2010. He had been a member of St. Roch's Church in LaSalle. He loved cooking, music, cars and motorcycles, and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
He is survived by four children, Doug (Jen) Cass of Peru, Tom (Karalyn) Cass of The Woodlands, TX, Nick (Beth) Cass of Peru, and Melissa Cass of Peru; and six grandchildren, Camryn, Alayna, Calen, Carter, Caleb, and Ryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Barb Bishop; his brother, Fred Cass; and a niece, Brenda Bishop.

Frank will always be remembered for his love of fireworks. He would entertain the neighbors for days before and after the 4th of July.
