Sumner Funeral & Cremation - GallatinOn Thursday, August 7, 2025, Frank V Coconato, patriarch of the Coconato family for many years, passed away, peacefully after a long wrestle with dementia.
Born in Astoria Queens, New York on February 20, 1947, Frank was the son of the late Frank and Jennie Coconato, the husband of Lorraine (Gilbert) Coconato and the father to two amazing sons, Todd and Scott Coconato.
Todd and Michelle married eight years ago and their six-year-old daughter, our granddaughter, Gia, was the apple of Frank’s eye!
Frank was very loved and admired by his family, church family and his business peers throughout the years!
Frank attended Hofstra University in New York and graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration and was the first Coconato that attended a university and accomplished a degree, encouraged by his grandfather, whom he adored.
Frank worked his way up the ladder of retail success for 38 years, working in Abraham and Straus in NY, H & S Pogue’s and Shillito-Rykes in Cincinnati, Ohio and May Co, Robinson’s-May and Macy’s in CA. Franks final position in retail was as a vice president of Macy’s, traveling frequently around the nation and internationally to fulfill his responsibilities and do an exceptional job!
During his leisure time, Frank’s favorite pastime was to go on vacations with his family and enjoy beaches and beautiful resorts around the nation.
Franks legacy will live on, through his family and those he mentored in retail.
A celebration of life service will take place on October 11th at 2pm at Celebration of Life Church at 768 Forest Retreat Road
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Frank to Leaves of Healing Ministries, a missionary outreach ministry, locally, nationally and internationally.
