Frank Garland Conyer
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frank "Garland" Conyer, 58, of Worcester, MA. Garland passed away peacefully during the early hours of February 20, 2026, at UMass Memorial Hospital, surrounded by the family he loved so dearly. Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, Garland was the son of the late Thomas Kellie and Ella Mae (Flanary) Conyer. His family moved to Worcester when he was five years old, where he later became a proud graduate of the North High School Class of 1985. Throughout his career, Garland was a hardworking man, lending his talents to FedEx and Mom’s Meals before spending his most recent years as a medical courier at LabCorp.
Garland was a man of immense spirit and simple pleasures. An avid sports fan, he could often be heard "coaching" from his living room, cheering—or passionately yelling—for his beloved New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys. Music was his soul’s language; he was a devoted fan of Prince and could always be found singing along to his favorite tracks. He found peace in fishing and trips to the beach, and joy in grilling for his loved ones. Known for his legendary, "never-ending" stories and a laugh that filled the room, Garland was the heart of any gathering. We will forever cherish the memories.
He is survived by his devoted life partner, Pearl Jones; his two sons, Shane Conyer-Jones of Leominster, and Terell Conyer-Jones of Worcester; and two daughters, Shana Johnson and her husband, Fauster, and Laniece Williamson, all of Phoenix, AZ. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, his cousin Laurie Abernathy, a host of nieces and nephews, and his lifelong friends Charles, Curtis, Dolph, and Greg.
Garland is now reunited with his parents and his beloved sister, Andrea Kellie Jordan, who preceded him in death in May 2025.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the 2E SICU Team at UMass Memorial for their compassionate care during Garland's final days.
Service Information: Family and friends are invited to honor Garland’s life on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St, Worcester. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 pm.
