Frank Thomas D'Acunto, Jr.

Frank Thomas D'Acunto, Jr., son of the late Frank and Margaret D'Acunto, and a longtime resident of Stamford, CT, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 74 years old.

Frank was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose life was defined by hard work, loyalty, and love for his family He was married to his best friend, Denise O'Meara D'Acunto, for 51 wonderful years - a partnership built on commitment, respect, and deep affection.

Frank graduated from Stamford High School, Class of 1969, and went on to serve his country honorably in the National Guard. Afterwards, for many years, he worked as a skilled mechanic, a trade he took great pride in. Known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others, he was always ready to lend a hand, fix what was broken, and share his knowledge with those around him. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, fishing and playing poker, as well as a loyal Philadelphia Eagles fan, rarely missing a chance to cheer on his team.

Above all else, Frank was a family man. He was a good father and a loving grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren. Whether working with his hands, spending time with his family or enjoying a game, he lived life with quiet integrity and warmth.

In addition to his beloved wife Denise, Frank is survived by his children Robert and his wife Angela, Frank and his wife Stephanie, and his daughter Danielle; his grandchildren Cailyn, Frankie, Ryan, Gabriella, Isabella, Abigail, and Delaney; his brothers John and his wife Kathy and Tommy and his wife Cindy; his brother in laws Brian, Edward (Debbie) and Kevin O'Meara, his sister in laws, Kim and Diana and many extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his father in law and mother in law Robert D. and Joan L. O'Meara, and his brother in laws James, John, and Robert O' Meara and also his sister in law, Jennifer O’Meara.

Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 3:00-7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 10:00 AM at The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist RC Church, 279 Atlantic Street, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in Frank’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105
