Frank Duran (80) of Chamita/Hernandez, New Mexico departed on November 14, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Frank was born on April 06,1945.
Frank is preceded in death by Barbara J. Duran, the love of his life on February 11,2024, whom he was married to for 60 years. He was also preceded by his parents Felicita and Gaspar Romero of Chamita. He is survived by his sons Les(Tomasita)Duran, Kenny(Becky) Duran, Mark(Judith) Duran, Louie(Michelle) Duran, Louie Jr. Duran, and his daughter Lynnae Duran. Grandsons John, Aaron (Sevy), Devin (Diana), Donovan, and Kendrick. Granddaughters: Jessica, Dakotah, Shantay, Kiana, and Emerald. Great Grandchildren: Ariel, Cassey, Elijah, Adelina, Avi, Luna and Sunny.
Frank worked at an early age for Ernie’s Furniture and later started working managing Bloch’s Fine Furniture. In total he worked for 45 years in the business and created lasting relationships with all his customers. One customer noted that a person could go in and get a piece of furniture on credit. A person’s word and handshake were the only contract during this time in Frank's eyes. Frank loved fishing with his friends and family and hunting with his sons. His biggest dream that turned into an accomplishment was involving his sons, brothers-in-law, and other family and friends to help build his home in Abiquiu. After the house was completed, his wife helped him landscape the area surrounding the house to make it their own. Frank and Jean’s last accomplishment was raising Louie Jr. and Lynnae.
A man with a big heart, he would bend over backwards for those in need. Frank will be dearly missed by those who were close to him. A special thanks to Annie who was a very dear friend to both Jean and Frank.
Services for Frank will be held on Tuesday November 25th, 2025, at the San Jose Mission in Hernandez NM. A Rosary will begin at 9:30am and a Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30am. All are welcome to join.
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
