Frank Eberhardt, age 79, of Shreveport, Louisiana entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on July 10, 2025. He was born on May 20, 1946, in Lafayette, Indiana to Frank and Millie Eberhardt.
Upon graduation from high school, Frank attended Purdue University and left to join the United States Air Force. His father was in the Air Force and Puerto Rico was Frank’s favorite base. Frank proudly served his country for 4 years with a tour in Vietnam. Upon honorable discharge from the Air Force, he completed his degree at LSUS. After college, he worked 26 years in law enforcement for Child Protective Services.
Frank spent several pleasurable years bass fishing in numerous lakes throughout Louisiana and Texas. He also enjoyed tennis and deer hunting. He was obsessed with yard work and mowed every four days. He wanted everyone’s yard to live up to his expectations!
Frank was married to his first wife, Peggy Eberhardt and together they had one child, Chad DeWayne.
Frank married Charlene in 1994 and enjoyed 20+ years vacationing in Destin, Florida. During the last five years, Frank would ride up and down the beach in his beach electric wheelchair, attracting and inspiring people to use one for their family and friends.
Frank endured the trials of a longtime muscular disease with the faith and strength of Jesus Christ. He was an inspiration to many, content, and led a happy life. Frank will be remembered best for his strong will, love, and support for his family and church family. He was a devout member of Ellerbe Road Methodist Church.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Sally LaCombe and Leslie. He is survived by his loving wife, Charlene Eberhardt; son, Chad Eberhardt and wife Maki; grandchildren, Logan Dyess and Krista Eberhardt; and great-grandson, Sylas James Dyess and his mother, Krynn Hites.
