Frank Flemon

Pastor Frank Lee Flemon was born to Isaac Flemon and Willie "MA Bill '' Ross on August 7,1930, in Grady Arkansas and was known to be a very welcoming and loving individual, throughout his life and ministry. At an unknown early age Rev Flemon confessed his belief in God and was baptized in Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by both parents, all but one of his siblings and a daughter Gwendolyn.
Before Rev. Flemon responded to his calling from the Lord to serve as a shepherd, he found a love for boxing. He would often tell stories of his years as the Milwaukee, WI Golden Gloves champion. (Year unknown) He was also an entrepreneur of many trades. These trades included a landscaping company, snow removal, hauling scrap, owning a farm, and having a car lot. Rev Flemon also loved traveling.
Sometime in the late 1950 Rev Flemon decided it was time to answer his calling. He became a member of Greenwood MBC of Kansas City, MO and would serve as a deacon until he became ordained. In the early 1970 he left Greenwood MBC and started his own church Straightway MBC with just a few members. In the summer his first 4 daughters would come down to help by being his choir/praise team.
On August 7, 1996, Rev. Flemon married Alice Mitchell in Arkansas. Once married they would work together to make sure God came first in not only their family but the members of the church.
Rev Frank Flemon was one of longest living senior pastors, at one time he was a member of New Era District Association and in later years Fellowship District Association, working in the State Convention as well, he was also a member of the Kansas City Missouri Baptist Ministers Union.
On February 19, 2022, God spoke to Rev. Frank L. Flemon's heart, and he responded, "I'm here Lord, take me."
To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife Alice Flemon, his children: Delores Jones (Kevin), Brenda Joyce Flemon, Alma Renay Flemon, Pamela Davis, Gregory Coleman, Tamika Brown, and Fredrick Flemon (Jordie), 2 loved stepchildren, Marcus Mitchell (April) and Roshanda Mitchell. One sister Bonnie Walker. A host of grandchildren, and great grandchildren. As well as his cousins the Duncan's whom he loved dearly. A host of other relatives, ministry colleagues and dear friends whose lives are enriched and forever changed because of his life and legacy.
