Ida Mae Bailey Flemon was born on December 29, 1936, in Madison, Mississippi, to the late Sellers Bailey and Mary Samuel. At the age of 89, she answered the Master's call on March 15, 2026 at 3:10 pm and peacefully transitioned from labor to reward.

Ida was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She was educated in Madison County and later moved to Jackson where she worked faithfully for many years as a housekeeper. She touched countless lives in her community with her kindness, compassion and was known as "Ms. Nan" to everyone she met. She was one amazing woman who would give the shirt off her back and would help anyone who was in need. Our mother was a woman of God in every sense, her beauty, faith, and spirit were simply breathtaking.

Ida was a devoted member of Greater Ross Chapel MB Church, where she sang in the choir, on the refreshment committee, a member of the women mission and on the hospitality committee. She was truly a servant of God and a virtuous woman who loved the Lord. She was also known for her strong faith and beautiful spirit. She loved cooking, shopping, spending time with her family, and sharing words of wisdom and encouragement. One of her specialties was homemade cakes.

Her favorite song was "May the work I've done speak for me" Our mother's life was a living testimony of her faith love and service that will not go unnoticed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister and brother-in law.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her three sons; Roosevelt (Obie) Fleming, Wallace and Arthur Fleming, her two daughters; Letricia (Julius) Smith and her baby Pamela Smith all of Jackson, Mississippi. Two stepdaughters Gloria (Joe) Stapleton of Indianapolis, Indiana and Jackie Davenport of Crystal Springs, MS; her grandchildren, ShymekaBolden, Kristin Lewis, Yolanda Jenson, Antonio Fleming, Maria (Clifford) Brewster, Julius C Smith, Ayanna Fleming, Devontae (Andraya) Smith, DeAnnaSmith all of Jackson, Mississippi and Sheena Bracey of Texas.
