Frank Hugh Garden, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, at the age of 79.

Born on August 16, 1946, in Baltimore, Maryland, Frank was the beloved son of Lt. Col. Frank Eugene Garden of Syracuse, New York, and Harriet Saunders Garden of Washington State. His family's roots trace back to Sicily, and their surname of Giardina was changed to Garden upon their arrival in the United States.

As a military dependent, Frank spent much of his childhood abroad while his father was stationed in Germany, an experience that shaped his perspective and adaptability. He later attended Monterey High School and went on to study at UC Berkeley. A proud Monterey County resident for 65 years, Frank built his life and career on the Central Coast.

Frank began his engineering career at Meagher Electronics in Monterey where he was mentored by Jim Meagher, whom he held in the highest regard. He later became a respected Broadcast Engineer, serving for 38 years at KSBW, KION, and KCBA. His dedication, skill, and reliability left a lasting mark on his colleagues and community

Outside of his professional life, Frank's passions reflected his generous spirit and self-reliant nature. In earlier years, he was an avid runner, and throughout his life he found joy in doing his own repairs-whether fixing cars, maintaining his home, or repairing toys for his grandchildren. Helping and supporting his family was Frank's love language. He was always thinking of ways to make life easier for those around him.

Frank also had a deep love for animals, having cared for many cats and dogs over the years. He shared a special bond with his dog, Murphy, who preceded him in death this past May.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Felisa; his sister Carol Garden of Sandy, Utah; his son Frank and daughter-in-law Georgia; and his eight cherished grandchildren: Jenna, Christopher, Melissa, Lacey, Michelle, Nathan, Erica, and Alden. His legacy of love, service, and quiet strength lives on through them.

A closed casket visitation will be held on Monday, September 22nd from 1:00pm to 6:00pm at Struve and Laporte Funeral Home, 41 West San Luis Street Salinas, Ca. 93901 followed by a Rosary service beginning at 6:00pm.

Mass will be held on Tuesday September 23rd at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 22 Stone Street Salinas, Ca. 93901.

The burial service will follow Mass at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way Salinas, Ca. 93907
