Frank Garred Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 9, 2026.
Frank Boggess Garred Jr., beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on January 5th, 2026, at age 70.

Frank was born on September 14, 1955, in Charleston, West Virginia. He lived a life grounded in faith and marked by quiet strength, patience, and deep love for his family. He took great joy in time spend with those he loved, traveling with his wife Peggy, and savoring a good cigar.

Frank is survived by his wife, Peggy; his daughters, Amy McCloskey and Maggie Garred; his grandchildren Elizabeth and JJ McCloskey; his sisters, Kim Halstead and Cathy Cummings, and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank Sr. and Dororthy Garred.

We find comfort in the promise of scripture and trust that Frank is now at peace – healed and whole – among those who went before him, in the presence of his Savior.

"Do not let your hearts be troubled… In my Father's house are many rooms." John 14:1-3

Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 5pm in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home. Visitation begins at 4pm and there will be dinner to follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's memory to Samaritan's Purse or Compassion International.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
