Frank K. Gilliatt, 84, of Marlborough, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in Marlborough, he was the son of the late Archie H. and Phyllis G. (Gurney) Gilliatt. Frank graduated from Marlboro High School, Class of 1959. He went on to earn several Master's degrees, including one in Education from Framingham State University.
Frank was a decorated U.S. Army Ranger and proud Vietnam War veteran, he served his country with honor and courage, earning one Silver Star and two Bronze Stars for his bravery and dedication.
Frank dedicated his life to education, teaching at Hudson High School, where he inspired countless students before his retirement. His passion for teaching and his genuine care for his students left a lasting mark on the community.
Frank is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Helene T. (Tran) Gilliatt of Marlborough; two daughters, Danielle Licari and her husband Damon of Virginia, Dominique Cohen and her husband Jason of Watertown; his son, Shane Gilliatt and his wife Jennifer of Andover; and six beloved grandchildren, Rose, Connor, Dahlia, Reese, Caroline, and Evan. He also leaves behind two sisters, Jean White of Winchendon and Pauline Clark of Colorado: his brother, Tim Gilliatt and his wife Paula. He is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
He was predeceased by his sister, Pat Choiniere
Frank had a love for the simple joys in life, fishing, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and joy. His kindness, humor, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends are warmly invited to join in a Celebration of Life on Thursday, October 30, 2025 in the Marlboro Country Club, Palmer Room, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Helene, I was so sad when I heard that you lost Frank. I knew that he had health issues, but I did not know how serious things were.
Frank was fortunate to have found you, Helene. I have no doubt that you two had a wonderful life together. It just wasn't long enough.
I'm looking forward to seeing you back at Home Goods. I'm offering any support that you need/want. I'm happy to come over some day in the future so that you can boss me around.
I'm thinking of you, Helene. I'm hoping you can find some calm at this time.
I'll see you soon.
Peace be with you.
Mary-Lynne
