Frank Harn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors - Hodgson Chapel on Jan. 21, 2026.
It is with profound sadness that the family of Frank Harn announces his peaceful passing on January 19, 2026, at the age of 82, under the care of Hospice Savannah, surrounded by loved ones. Born on December 3, 1943, in Savannah, GA, to Robert and Ida Harn, Frank grew to be a beacon of hard work, humor, and generosity.

Frank spent the majority of his life in Savannah, graduating from Jenkins High School before joining the United States Navy. During his four years of service, Frank developed a lifelong love for the water and a passion for traveling the world. After leaving the military, he pursued a variety of careers, including shrimping, sales, and carpentry. His natural talent for carpentry, coupled with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, led him to establish Harn's Hardwood Floors, which he operated until his retirement in 2018.

After his first marriage and the birth of his daughter Whitney, Frank met his wife, Elizabeth Stephen's Harn, in the mid 1970s. Together they shared many years of love and happiness, along with the birth of their daughter, Sara, before Elizabeth's passing in 2019. In 2021, Frank purchased a pecan orchard in Claxton, GA, where he designed and built a beautiful home for himself and his two dogs.

Frank was truly one of a kind. Those who knew him would agree that he was hilarious, earnest, honest, intelligent, and deeply passionate, with an unmistakably big heart. He loved guns, Budweiser, and anything with at least two wheels. He stood firmly for what he believed in, called it as he saw it and-true to his name-was always frank. For decades, he faithfully cooked chicken and rice for his dogs every day. Friends were often surprised with gifts of his legendary Boston butts or homemade shrimp paste, given simply because he cared. Above all, Frank was a kind, thoughtful, and loving man who will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his two daughters, Whitney Ketron (David) and Sara Kamaleson (Mark); his sister, Helen Phillips; his many grandchildren; and his two dogs, Buddy and Betty Lou. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Robert, Jimmy, and Al.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., also at Fox & Weeks. A celebration of life will be held afterward at the Forest City Gun Club.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice Savannah in Frank's memory.
