Frank H. Heffron

Frank Heffron, an attorney in Exeter, New Hampshire, and a former New Hampshire State Representative, died peacefully on November 15. He was 87 years old. Born in Middletown, New York, he grew up in Foxboro and attended Middlebury College and then Columbia Law School. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army. As a young attorney, he worked for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, going South to work on the desegregation of motels in the 1960s. He resided in Westwood, Massachusetts, and Binghamton, New York, before moving to Exeter, New Hampshire. A long-time Democratic political activist, Frank was elected a New Hampshire State Representative, serving from 2012-2016. In his 80s, he went door-to-door encouraging people to vote. Frank was a member of the Board of Trustees of the First Universalist Society of Exeter, New Hampshire.
He was a devoted husband to his wife, Margery, now deceased, a loving father to his three children: Anne Heffron of Westwood, Massachusetts, Jyre Heffron of Providence, Rhode Island, and Sam Heffron of Kittery Point, Maine, and a devoted grandfather to his grandchildren: Keats Iwanaga, Phineas Heffron, and Bella Heffron. He will be remembered for his kindness, modesty, intellect, and faith in the American political process.
