Frank D. Jones, age 90, of Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on October 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Canton, Ohio, on April 18, 1935, to the late Harold and Sadie (Beckner) Jones.
Frank proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, where he developed the dedication and discipline that guided him throughout his life. Following his service, he brought those same qualities to his work in law enforcement—first with the East Canton Police Department, and later with the Stark County Sheriff’s Department, where he served faithfully for many years before retiring.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Nita, Betty, and Goldie; and his brother, Harold.
Frank’s memory will forever be cherished by his devoted wife of over 70 years, Mary E. Jones; his daughters, Tina Akey and Shirley (Jeff) King; his sons, Frank Jones and Bill Jones; and his nine beloved grandchildren: Jessica, William, Chad, Terra, Hunter, Nathan, Natalie, Brandon, and Joseph.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, a private service will be held, with interment at Henry Warstler Cemetery, where military honors will be rendered in recognition of Frank’s service to his country.
