Frank Edward Jones

Frank Edward Jones, age 95 of Knoxville, TN, passed away on January 17, 2026. Frank was born on May 3, 1930, in Knoxville, TN, where he spent his life embodying the values of hard work, faith, and a deep love for his family.

A devoted husband to his cherished wife, Avis Jones, Frank was known for his unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, which guided him throughout his life. Together, Frank and Avis embarked on a remarkable journey, traveling to all 50 states and participating in several mission trips that filled their lives with purpose and adventure. They loved spending winters in Florida, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and joy. Professionally, Frank dedicated 35 years of his life as a talented pipefitter at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, showcasing his ability to work with both his hands and mind. In addition to his professional achievements, Frank proudly served in the United States Navy, an experience that instilled in him a sense of duty and pride.

Frank is preceded in death by his mother, Zula Jones Cox and brothers, Bob Jones and Harold Jones.

He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife of 65 years, Avis Jones; children, Larry Jones (Linda), Kathy Rhyne (Reid) and Jeff Jones; five grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
