Frank Katanic Obituary

Frank was born in Antioch California on October 24, 1944. He passed away on October 4, 2023 at home in Yuba City. He grew up in Pittsburg California and graduated from high school there in 1962. He went on to attend San Jose State University and graduated with a bachelors degree in industrial arts, and a California lifetime teaching credential. He was recruited to teach at Yuba City high school, and taught there from 1967 to 1976 when he became a professor of industrial arts at Yuba community college he taught there until 2006 when he retired after 40 years of teaching and he was instrumental in starting the body and paint program at the request of the college. Many of his students went on to work in the community and he helped many staff member paint their cars.

After he graduated from college, he married his high school sweetheart Maria and they were married for 55 years. they raise five children together Jennifer, Suzanne, Andrea, Rebecca, , and Chris and they have four grandchildren-

Peyton, Juliet, Hunter, and Josiah. He is also survive by a sister, Joanne. They say still water runs deep and that was true of Frank. He was quiet, studious, and deep. He was always looking for the deeper meaning of life and he found it when he accepted Jesus in 1978. After that, he spent his time studying the Bible and sharing what he learned with other men, including prison ministry in Susanville, Woodland and Sutter County,

Frank's celebration of life will be Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11 AM at The Bride Church, 1321 Peach Tree Ln. in Yuba City. Dress is casual and there will be a potluck following the service.

I have so many memories of him and Maria, he was one of my fathers favorite people, they attended mens bible study together for years, he was always having a laugh and telling people about gods love! I will always be thankful for him, he always had a friendly word to say about everyone! He is truly missed!
