Frank S. Klimek

1948 - 2026

Frank Stanley Klimek, 77, formerly of Rose Manor, Pittsfield, died Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on August 23, 1948, son of the late Chester and Mary Borkowski Klimek, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1966 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

A veteran, Frank enlisted with the United States Naval Reserve where he served a year and a half. On August 26, 1966, he was recalled to active duty, and served overseas aboard the USS Salamonie for three months, from where he was honorably discharged on November 29, 1966.

Following service to his country, Mr. Klimek first worked for Mead Specialty Paper Company in Lee. He later went to work for Hi-Tech Mold and Tool in Pittsfield where he was a press operator and from where he retired after 4 years of service.

Mr. Klimek was a communicant of Holy Family Church and All Saints Church.

He was a member of the Polish Community Club where he was the recording security for many years and enjoyed their annual Polish picnics.

Frank enjoyed all sports especially all the New England teams. He enjoyed attending the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park and Pittsfield Suns games with his son Michael. He enjoyed candlepin bowling at the Eagles lanes and doing crossword puzzles and word searches.

Mr. Klimek leaves his wife, the former Teresa Biernacki, whom he married October 4, 1969 in All Saints church in Housatonic.

He is also survived by his son, Michael (wife Kim) Klimek of Pittsfield; a sister, Sally Maslanka, and several nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by his parents and In-laws. Brother in-law Francis Maslanka and Nephew Scott Maslanka.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for FRANK STANLEY KLIMEK will be held Friday, January 16, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor of St. Joseph Church, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, January 15, from 3:00-6:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Berkshire Humane Society in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
