Frank Kolb Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lighthouse Family Mortuary - Greeley on Dec. 23, 2025.
Frank Micheal Kolb, 69, of Eaton, passed away on December 18, 2025 in Greeley, Colorado. He was born to Ray Kapalka and Barbara Hulina on April 5, 1956 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. However, he was lovingly raised by his father Harry Kolb.
Frank Michael Kolb passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of service, creativity, and devotion to family. Frank proudly and honorably served in the United States Coast Guard and was stationed in California. His military service was a source of great pride, as was his deep love for the United States.
Frank was truly a jack of all trades and could fix just about anything. He was the very definition of an artist-passionate about building, stained glass, painting, and colored pencil art. His creativity knew no bounds. He designed and built floats for special needs children and had a natural gift for design; his wife often fondly referred to him as her personal interior designer. Frank's craftsmanship, imagination, and attention to detail were evident in everything he created.
A devoted husband, father and family man, Frank cherished time with those he loved most. He also enjoyed competitive and recreational shooting and was highly skilled in building and painting firearms. Above all, Frank found joy in helping others and sharing his talents with anyone in need.
Frank was a faithful member of Cowboy Church in Lucerne, Colorado. He was also a passionate sports fan, proudly supporting the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Avalanche.
He is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, Royce; his children, Ben Kolb, Waymon (Elyse) Barnette, Andrew Kolb (Lia Butler), and Joshua Barnette; eight grandchildren; siblings, Harry (Lori) Kolb, Terry (Dina) Kolb, Mike (Caren) Kolb, Joni (John) Huling, Melinda Verdier, Susan (Gary) Strunk, Melissa Nguyen, David (Sue) Wismer, Stacey Kapalka, Ray (Veronica) Kapalka Jr.; and a large extended family and many dear friends. Frank will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sandy Goodwin.
Memorial contributions in Frank's name may be made to Tunnel to Towers, in care of Lighthouse Family Mortuary, 3600 W. 22nd St., Greeley, CO 80634. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.lighthousefamilylm.com.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene, 2515 W. 16th Street, Greeley, Colorado.
