Frank Edwin Kruft, age 72, a lifelong resident of the Park Rapids community, passed away December 17, 2024, at Crystal Brook Hospice Care with family by his side. He died from cardiac illness exacerbated by lung cancer.
Frank was born on October 31, 1952, He was the son of Edwin and Colleen Kruft. He was raised on the family farm East of Park Rapids and graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1970. Frank attended University of Minnesota Morris where he majored in Chemistry. After a time of working in Anchorage, Alaska, Frank returned to Park Rapids to manage the family farm. Frank was known for his incredible engineering and “fix-it” skills and his own brand of gentle dry wit. From farm machinery to sewing machines to computers, Frank was in his element finding and fixing whatever was wrong. Frank, like his father and grandfather before him, was the sexton of the Henrietta Cemetery across the road from the family farm.
Frank is survived by his Sisters; Rosemary Mills and Jean Kruft, and by his nephews; Forest and Skye Mills and niece Katherine Henderson (Mark Price) and their children, Cory and Rey. Frank is survived by several first cousins and many second cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Suzanne (Kruft) Taylor and his parents.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 27, 2024 from 2 to 4 PM at Jones Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN. Inurnment will be held in the spring of 2025.
