Frank Lawlor, age 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by his adoring family on January 31, 2026. He was born on January 7, 1934 in Manhattan. Frank was a lifelong New Yorker, raised in New York City and then later made his family home in Island Trees.

Frank served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, he devoted many years to public service as a member of the New York City Police Department. In addition to his law enforcement career, Frank was also a dedicated teacher, assistant principal and CYO director. He was involved in many community activities continuing his lifelong commitment to serving others and shaping young lives.

Above all else, Frank was a devoted husband, father, grandfather of 20, and great-grandfather of 15.

He shared a loving marriage of many decades with his beloved wife, Cathy. Together they raised six children: Danny (Donna), Patricia (Michael), Terri (John), Jeanne (Jim), Rich and Tammy (Brian). Frank took great pride in his family and found his greatest joy in their successes, laughter, and togetherness.

Known for his warmth, humor, strong faith, and deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures, Frank lived by the motto: "La Dolce Vita" The Good Life!

Frank will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
