Frank Joseph (Skip) Lucier

Frank Joseph Lucier ("Skip"), beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, at Gold Coast University Hospital in Australia at the age of 79.

Frank and his cherished wife, Kathleen, had just begun a long-dreamed-of world cruise when he experienced a sudden medical emergency. In a blessing for which the family is deeply grateful, loved ones were able to gather by his side before he passed.

A proud firefighter with the San Francisco Fire Department, Frank devoted his life to service. Following the Loma Prieta earthquake, he helped create San Francisco's Neighborhood Emergency Response Team (NERT) program and later traveled nationwide training communities in disaster preparedness. He went on to serve as Director of the Napa County chapter of the American Red Cross and later as Chair of the Napa County Veterans Commission.

Frank cherished lifelong friendships from St. Anne School and St. Ignatius College Preparatory. A dedicated marathon runner, he completed his 16th marathon at age 70. An accomplished photographer, he documented decades of world travel with Kathleen.

Above all, Frank's greatest joy was his family. When asked how long they had been married, he would smile and reply, "45 blissful years."

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; son Garret (Katie); daughter Dawn; grandchildren Jack, Tatum, and Cooper; sisters Rosemary Lucier (Dennis) and Linda Ara (Tony); and many loving nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held March 14 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Apollinaris Catholic Church, Napa. Frank Joseph (Skip) Lucier
