Frank A. Maenhout

Frank A. Maenhout passed away peacefully on September 22, 2021 at the age of 77, in Naperville, Illinois after a courageous battle with liver cancer, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Eeklo, Belgium in 1944, Frank lived and worked in multiple countries in Europe and states throughout his life, but had settled down the last 20 years in Naperville. Frank graduated from the University of Gent in Belgium with a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering in 1967. He spent the majority of his career at Teepak Inc. ultimately retiring in Naperville together with his wife, Martine.
Throughout their marriage of 53 years, Frank and Martine loved to travel the world managing to visit all seven continents. Upon retirement, he became a passionate fisherman, a hobby he loved to share with his grandsons during fishing trips to Canada. Frank always loved books and reading – even doing some writing after retiring – although his main passion became spoiling his grandchildren.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Martine (nee Thienpont), their son Sven (Ina Kathrin Hilgers), and daughter Annick (M. Slade O'Keefe), and four beloved grandchildren (Mika, Leon, Amelie, and Finnegan). He is also survived by his brother Lucien.
A memorial visitation will be Tuesday, September 28, 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon (CST) at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
A Celebration of Frank's life will follow at 12:00 Noon (CST) / 19:00 (CET) at the funeral home and via livestream.
