Frank "Hambone" Malizia, age 102, of New Castle, Pennsylvania passed away the morning of January 12, 2025, at his daughter's residence in Union Township.
He was born in Pietrafitta, Caserta, Italy, on February 26, 1922, Frank was the son of the late Carmine and Carolina Malizia. On November 23, 1944, Frank married his beloved wife, the former Irene (Dater). Irene preceded him in death on May 30, 1949. Frank had proudly served his country as a member of the United State Army and Air Corp during World War II earning the title of Sergeant. Frank retired as a Hotel and Restaurant Owner of the Leslie Hotel, The Hut and Dino's. He had also worked as a food equipment salesman. Frank was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St Vitus Church. Frank enjoyed playing Bocce, going golfing and having coffee with friends
He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Counsel 512 and the VFW Post #315. Frank is survived by his daughters, Carol Ann Malizia; and Kim Malizia; and his two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmine and Carolina Malizia; his wife, Irene; his two sons, Robert Malizia and Frank Malizia; and his brother, George Malizia. Services were held Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, in New Castle, Pennsylvania
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Our Lady of Help Cemetery in Antonino, Kansas with celebrant, Father Curtis Carlson O.F.M. Cap., and military honors will be conducted by the Hays V.F.W. Post No. 9076.
Services are entrusted to Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.
