Janet Malizia Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 22, 2025.
Janet Lee Malizia, lovingly known to her grandchildren as "Mimi," passed away suddenly Thursday, November 13th, 2025. Jan was born and raised in Buffalo, New York before making Katy, Texas her home.

Jan was united in marriage to Joe Malizia, with whom she shared a beautiful life and son. She was a gifted cosmetologist and hairdresser who later dedicated herself to homemaking-roles in which she poured her heart and care. Jan was a true believer in Jesus Christ, who brought her much peace during her lifetime.

Jan loved to cook and especially enjoyed making homemade Christmas cookies. She treasured time spent with her grandchildren, proudly attending their swim meets and school events and celebrating every milestone with them. Those who knew Jan describe her as kind, caring, loving, traditional, and faithful. Jan never met a stranger and offered empathy and encouragement to everyone she encountered.

Jan is survived by her son, Jody Malizia; her daughter-in-law, Jessyca Prater; her grandchildren, Giada and Jade Malizia; and numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Jan was preceded in death by her mother, Erline Napier; her father, Brownie Rogalski; her grandparents, Brownie Napier and Jessie Miller; her ex-husband and best friend, Joe Malizia; and her dog, Sophie.

Janet's love and warmth will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
