Frank Melon (Frankie) age 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 7, 2025, at MountainView Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Frank Melon was born on December 15, 1941, in Las Cruces, to Santiago R. and Josephina M. Melon. Frank was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother and friend. At a young age Frank enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country. He enjoyed fishing and reading and was a jack of all trades. Frank met his beautiful wife Rachel on September 7, 1971, and married May 6, 1983. He is survived by his wife Rachel; his children, Lisa Romero (Husband Tony Romero); Isabel Melon; Stephanie Moreno (Husband Enrique Moreno); Genevieve Melon, Elizabeth Melon (grandchildren). Eight grandchildren: Jessica Garza, Valerie Andrade (Husband Isaac Andrade), Frankie Melon, Stephanie Melon, Mariah Melon, Estephano Romero, and Destiny Nevarez (Husband Ernesto Nevarez). Fifteen great-grandchildren: Antonio Juarez, Sophia Andrade, Genessis Deleon, Stacie Andrade, Julissa Melon, Shane Garza, Isaiah Andrade, Harley Garza, Edessa Nevarez, Emilio Guerra, Hailey Garza, Zayla Melon, Joel Calderon, Angelita Guerra, Zephaniah Calderon, and Jolina Calderon. He is preceded in death by his parents, Santiago and Josephina Melon; his son, Frankie O. Melon; his grandchild, Mark Melon, his great-grandchild Cesar Juarez; Oscar Lopez and brothers and sisters. Frank will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Funeral Service will be held on February 20, 2025, at La Paz Funeral Home in Las Cruces, NM from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Reception following service will be held at Temple Baptist Church located at 2300 Missouri Avenue, Las Cruces, NM. The family would like to thank MountainView Regional Medical Center doctors and nurses and Desert Hospice nurses for their compassion during his final journey.
