Clyde Morris Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Perches - Graham's Funeral Home (La Paz - Graham's Funeral Home) on Jan. 28, 2026.
With hearts full of love and gratitude, we honor the life of Clyde Wayne "Papa" Morris, who went home to be with the lord on January 21st, 2026. Born on May 17th, 1946. Wayne was a true New Mexico Cowboy through and through- steady, loyal and full of grit. Wayne and his father, Jim Morris, opened Wayne's Auto Sales fifty years ago. The last fifteen years in business were spent alongside his grandson Nick. A career that became more than just a livelihood- it became his legacy. He built a business rooted in honesty, hard work and a handshake you could trust.
A cowboy at heart, who was a skilled team roper, lifelong rodeo fan, who loved watching old westerns- especially John Wayne, and sending in his NFL weekly picks with his daughter Debbie. If you knew Wayne, you knew he always had a rhyming jingle, a joke, or a crazy story to tell that would have you laughing and leave a smile on your face.
You could always find Wayne riding his four-wheeler, enjoying a popsicle, going for a dip in the pool, or a soak in the hot tub. Simple joys that fit him just right. To his grandbabies he was simply, "PAPA". They were the joy of his life. He loved them fiercely, proudly, and without end. He was the ultimate family man, and nothing mattered more to him than the people he loved.
All his family take comfort in knowing he is now healed and made whole. After rededicating his life to Jesus and accepting him into his heart as his Lord and Savior on November 14th, 2025. We give thanks to God for the gift of his life and the love he poured into all of us. Wayne is survived by his loving and beautiful wife of sixty-two years, Judy Morris. Their two children Debbie (Danny) Rascon and Jimmy Morris "Bo". Five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Nick Rascon, Amanda (Garrett, Miles, Madden) Bertola, Ashley (Cameron) Chavez, Samantha (Jalen) Valencia, Jordan (JJ, Jaime Wayne, June) Castro. His siblings, Kathleen (Kit) Carson, Roy (Judi) Morris and Sharon Scott. Preceded in death by his parents Jim and Bonnie Bell Morris, brothers Allen, Roger and Jerry Morris and sister Carolyn Beasley. Fast Freddy and Pete Scott.
Services will be held on February 6th, 2026, at Las Cruces First Assembly of God Church (Highway 70) the viewing will be held at nine o'clock to ten o'clock, with services beginning at ten o'clock. Immediately followed by a graveside ceremony at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
