Bill George "Doc" Morris

William "Doc" George Morris, 81, of Barnwell, SC passed away at home on Friday, February 6, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at eleven o'clock a.m., Friday, February 13, 2026 at the First Baptist Church of Barnwell with the Dr. T. Bart Kelly officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Memorial contributions may be given in Doc's memory to the First Baptist Church of Barnwell, Construction Ministry, 161 Allen St., Barnwell, SC 29812.

Born in Swansea, Wales, he was the son of the late George Edward Morris and Ethel Pope Morris and was married to Marjorie Beyl Morris for 58 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Barnwell where he served as a Deacon and was the Senior Men's Sunday School teacher for more than 10 years. He was a godly man and a faithful servant for the Lord. He enjoyed meeting with the Senior Men's Monthly Breakfast Club. Doc was a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a degree in Agronomy. After graduation, he continued his education and received his Master's Degree and his PhD in Crop Physiology. Doc taught all of the Sciences at the Allendale and Barnwell High Schools and especially enjoyed teaching Physics. He was the Cross-Country Coach at the Barnwell High School. Doc loved spending time outdoors fishing, hiking, and camping. Doc enjoyed mission trips and traveling.

Survivors include his loving wife of the home, Marjorie Morris; his daughters, Kimberly Kershaw of OK and Lisa (Brent) Crosby of Cochran, GA; a son, George (Amy) Morris of ID; sister, Joyce (David) Engle of OK; grandchildren, Jessica, Katie, David, Beka, and Jesse; great grandchildren, Grayson, Gavin, and Dexter.

The family would like to thank the ICU unit at Aiken Reginal Medical Center, Doctors Tanvum, Douglas and Stahura, and Crescent Hospice especially Liana.
