Mildred Jacobs
Aiken, SC - Mildred Hawes Jacobs went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Millie was born on February 1, 1929, in Santa Ana, CA. She lived her formative years in Huntington Beach, CA; raised her family in Chicago, IL; taught school in Kentucky, Chicago, Okinawa and Idaho, served as a missionary in Indonesia, the Bahamas, and Bolivia; retired to Fort Worth, TX; and spent her final years in Aiken, South Carolina.
Millie is survived by her daughter, Diane Addis (Robert), of Aiken, SC; her son, James Jacobs (Mary Kay Blaschke), of Chicago, IL; grandchildren (Kristen Brown (Ahmad) of Las Vegas, NV; Andrew Addis of Honolulu, HI; and Katherine Miller (Sean) of Lynchburg, VA); and greatgrandchildren (Remington Brown, Audrey Basten, Hugh Basten, Ellis Basten and Vada Miller).
Millie was preceded in death by her parents, the late Dr Ralph and Gladys Hawes of Huntington Beach, CA; her husband, the late John Earl Jacobs of Chicago, IL; her son, John Jacobs of Grapevine, TX; her sisters, Dorothy Van Beek (Ray) of Rohnert Park, CA, and Marjorie Campbell (John) of Sebring, FL; and her brother, Don (Mary Ann) Hawes of Cucamonga, CA.
A celebration of life service will be held at Aiken First Baptist Church, with the date to be announced later.
