Frank Mirisola Obituary

Frank Mirisola passed away on October 7th, 2022, following a lengthy illness at his home in the arms of beloved wife Marie (Passatempo) of 44 years, which was a peaceful way to enter the gates of heaven. Frank was born and raised in Riesi, Sicily, and immigrated to South Boston at the age of 17. Frank's heart was always in South Boston and Pompano Beach, FL. Frank leaves behind his dear brother Philip and his wife Giosina, of Medford, his dear sister Gina, and her husband Salvatore Zarbo, of New Symerna Beach, FL. Frank also leaves behind. his father-in-law Peter J. Passatempo, brothers-in-law, Peter Passatempo and his wife Susan of Medford, Robert Passatempo and his wife Maureen of Stoneham, Ronald Passatempo and his wife Ann Marie of Lynnfield and Steven Passatempo and his wife Camille of Medford. Frank will be missed by all his nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and his two godchildren. Frank will rest eternally in heaven with his father Luigi, his mother, Maria, and his mother-in-law Catherine Passatempo (DiBlasi).

Frank's passion was soccer and he loved following his favorite team, Juventus. Frank worked for the Laborers Union, Local 151. Frank was also the co-owner of the Bayview Superette of South Boston, currently known as Mirisola's. Frank was the City of Boston's coordinator for the soccer referees for all Boston high schools. He was also the past President of the Soccer Retiree Association and the past President and Chairman of the Saint Joseph's Society of the North End, a non-profit organization, aiding the orphanage and people in need.

Frank took great pride in his garden and was known for his thirty-foot fig tree. He loved entertaining, barbecues, serving steaks, salads and homemade wine for his family, friends and neighbors.

Frank enjoyed frequently travelling to Italy and splitting his time between South Boston and Pompano Beach. Frank thoroughly enjoyed his life, was loved by all and will be sorely missed his family, friends and his adoring wife.

Funeral from Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main Street, Everett on Thursday, October 13th at 9:00 am. A Funeral Mass will be held in the Gate of Heaven Church 615 East 4th Street, South Boston at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Complimentary valet parking Wednesday at the Main Street entrance. Interment in Saint Michael Cemetery, Boston.
