Frank Nelson passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, after a period of declining health.
Frank was born in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, to Charles Lucien Nelson and Zelda (Ainsworth) Nelson. As a teenager, he moved with his family to New Hampshire, where he later made his home in Rochester.
Frank had a deep love for his wife and family. He especially enjoyed many years of happiness hosting family events. He spent many winters snowmobiling in northern New Hampshire and cherished the freedom of the open road on his motorcycle. When he wasn’t outside, Frank could often be found in his woodshop creating projects with care and skill or quietly working on a puzzle.
Frank is survived by his wife, Shirley Nelson; his daughters Kathy DeGrechie and her husband Jeff, Judy Chick and her husband Mike, Susan Hussey and her partner Peter, Sally Nelson and her husband Jim Pennell, and Nancy Rodriguez and her husband Steven; as well as his nephews James, David and Philip Carle, and his many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, and stepchildren Susan Gordon, Alan McKuhen and Kellie Andujar.
He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Zelda Nelson, his sister Charlotte Carle and her husband, Donald, and stepchildren Matthew McKuhen and Tracie McKuhen.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s memory may be made to the Shriners Burn Center. A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
