Frank Joseph Nolan

Frank Joseph Nolan, 81, of Cato, New York, passed away at his cherished home accompanied by loved ones on December 24,2025. Born on September 10, 1944 in Albany, New York, Frank was the son of Francis Nolan and Katherine (Stang) Nolan.
Frank was a graduate of State University College of Forestry (ESF) in Syracuse, New York and went on to acquire a master's degree in economics from South Dakota State University. He served honorably as a missile launch officer in the United States Air Force and was released from active duty with the rank of Captain in July 1972. He went on to become Production Services Manager at Chesebrough Ponds in Watertown, New York before moving to Liverpool, New York for the opening of the Miller Brewing Company in Fulton. He remained at Miller as Production Services Manager until it closed in 1994. Frank then went on to become the Vice President at NexCycle Resources until his well-deserved retirement.
Frank was instrumental in creating and facilitating the AAll Syracuse Subgroup which met monthly to research and discuss financial investments.
A man deeply devoted to the outdoors; Frank found peace in nature. Although he was an avid hunter and fisherman, his love for the land was more than a hobby. It was his way of life. As lasting gifts to his family, Frank, along with his wife Glenna, created two picturesque gathering places. A home surrounded by peaceful woods for hunting, exploring and enjoying nature and a home on the shore where summer's passage will be marked by sunsets across the bay for years to come. Frank's spirit will live on in the land he cared for, the family he devoted himself to, and the lessons he taught his children and grandchildren.
Frank is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Glenna; his children, Shannon (Jason) and Jason (Laurie); his grandchildren Emily, Nolan, Nicholas, lsabella, Ava, Daniel and Parker. His sister, Kathy Nolan, brother-in-law, Paul McVagh and nephews, Ryan, John, and Robert.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
