Frank Rudolph Ohm of Sheboygan joined his heavenly father on May 11, 2025 at the age of 89, at The Shores nursing home in Sheboygan. Frank was born on October 27, 1935 to Frank Ohm Sr. and Rosalie (nee Drews) Ohm in Sheboygan. He attended St. Dominic school and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1956. On June 2, 1956, he married Doris Seichter. Frank and Doris enjoyed 43 years of marriage together, raising six children in Sheboygan. Frank worked for 17 years at Armira Leather Corporation as a laborer and union representative. After Armira closed in 1983, he spent the rest of his career at Sunny Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center as a care assistant. Frank was a devoted catholic and longtime member of the Holy Name of Jesus Church in Sheboygan.
Frank spent much of his life in service of those around him. As a father to six children, he worked full-time while often picking up extra work wherever he could in order to provide for his family. Through much of his life, he served as a lay distributor at Holy Name, delivering communion to those who were unable to attend Sunday services. In his later years, Frank had the opportunity to serve as a missionary in Peru. In retirement, Frank enjoyed many years of volunteer work in the Sheboygan School District Foster Grandparents program, where many kids came to know Grandpa Frank for his kindness, humor, and bright personality. He also enjoyed traveling and making memories visiting his children and grandchildren. Friends and family will fondly remember Frank's many costumes, his fun-loving personality, and his fantastic dance moves at countless work and holiday events over the years. Throughout his life, Frank enjoyed dancing, singing and performing, and was especially renowned for his skills as a polka dancer. He always enjoyed being surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones, and had the remarkable ability to get along with everybody he happened to meet.
Frank is survived by five children, Michael Ohm, Marie Minz, Matthew Ohm (Tess Chronis), Monica (Chad) Allaback, and Melissa Ohm, his grandchildren Caroline Allaback, Trent Allaback, and Jennifer Meyer, one great grandchild, Olivia Meyer, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Rose Schramm, Mark Ohm, his son, Joe Minz, his son-in-law, and his beloved wife, Doris.
Frank's funeral will be held at Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service. on Friday, May 23rd with visitation at 3:00pm and a memorial service with Fr. Nick Baumgardner officiating at 7:00pm. He will join his wife Doris and Son Mark at Calvary cemetery on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Frank's family would like to thank Frank's care team at St. Nicholas and St. Vincent Hospitals and the wonderful staff at The Shores Sheboygan who worked so hard to make Frank's final years' comfortable, restful, and enjoyable. He will be dearly missed and remembered fondly by the many people who knew and loved him.
