Dear Johnny and Auntie Mona,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and all the Grandchildren as well, we were sadden to here of Uncle Pancho's passing, Uncle Pancho was a great man indeed, his love for his family and his honesty will always be remembered. As I told my children about his passing the memories of their early childhood they talked about when their Nana (Felipa) died and Uncle Pancho came over with gifts but they remembered the Giant Coloring books that he gave them, and the Strength he was to the family in that time of need, as they gatherd and talked about back then, I see the impact that his love and kindness had on them, he will be missed deeply, but will be remembered and loved. We will keep your family in our prayers and thoughts daily. May the Lord Comfort you and your family.

Ramona Rodriguez and Family,
I was sadden to learn of Frank's passing.
I met Frank in the legislature back in the day, pushing for a farm-worker bill. I was young and learning the legislative process.
Frank promised to help us pass this bill because it was a good bill to help migrant workers. The next session the proposal became law. I admired him for being the only Latino in the House of Represtatives. Later we served together on the Clinica's Board. While I did not see him but occassionally over the years I felt we had a special bond having worked together on a number of issues.
Frank made a difference in people's lives and isn't that what is important?
I will alway remember him fondly.

My deepest condolences to the family. I grew up hearing the name Frank Rodriguez. His name conjured up pride, respect and even anger for some folks.
Franks stature with the DFL Party, his long time position with the Labor Union, the 1st Mexican American elected to the Mn Legislature, and his ever presence at Our Lady of Guadalupe, to me Frank was bigger than life.
During the turbulant 60's as we both worked for the betterment of our community, Frank and I were sometimes on opposite ends. We could both agree on the needs and issues, it was the tactics where we differed. I was more into confrontation while Frank was more diplomatic.
However in the last 20 years as Frank and I got to know each other better, I've come to realize that Frank really always had a confrontational spirit in him, sometimes even more than me.
Frank was from the generation that Tom Brokow called the "greatest Generation". Frank didn't complain, he just did. He believed in an honest day's pay for an honest day of work. Frank was a no nonsense type of guy, what you saw is what you got. Frank believed that hard work and personal responsibility can and will open up doors of opportunities. These things were very dear to Frank and he would fight tooth and nail to be there for them, his family, his culture, and his community.
A vivid memory I have of Frank, is seeing his grandchildren in church on Sundays and stopping by to give their Grandpa a hug and a kiss. It was very enduring. I want to close with a poem that I learned at Humboldt that embodies Frank:
"I shall pass through this world but once, any good or kindness I can do for any human being let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again."
To Frank's Family, Our community has been blessed with Franks presence. May he rest in peace, he certainly deserves to.

It saddens me to read that Poncho has past on. I remember him from the westside flats He and my mother Mary George Godleski, served on the labor union together and my dad Bill Godleski, played softball with Poncho,he was a great help in the community center(the neighborhood house) I remember him hulling us kids to camp owindigo, he was kind and encourageing. As years went on I next remember seeing him at the westside reunions, on those occasions memories flood back. I live in california now and still look up the pioneer press and the loss of 2 great men passing in so short a time is felt deeply. To Ponchos wife and family and friends memories are still in our minds and hearts.Time will not dim the happy foundations that were built as a result of such caring outstanding leaders.May God keep you tucked tightly in his arms. My brother Michael and I send our love and prayers.
