We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Frank Joseph Sarrategui III, who passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, in Lincoln, MA, after a short battle with cancer. Frank was born on January 29, 1956, in Los Angeles, CA. Frank was a beloved figure known for his humor, intelligence, and kindness. His zest for life and infectious laughter left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Frank's early years were spent under the warm California sun. Though he spent his life on both coasts, his love was always for the Pacific Ocean.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Sarrategui II formerly of Woodland Hills California. He is survived by his mother, Mary Lupe Whitson, of Stoneham, MA.
Frank's spirit and legacy live on through his siblings: Paul (Dino) Sarrategui and his wife Dona, Roxann Sarrategui, Deborah Canino and her husband Steve, Jim Whitson and his wife Kelli, John Whitson and his wife Julie, and Tara Small and her husband Ted. He was also a cherished brother to the late Gina Whitson. Frank was a fun and adored uncle to many nieces and nephews who will miss his playful nature and wise counsel. He was adored and will be dearly missed by his many cousins.
Frank dedicated his professional life to the field of Loss Prevention, where he not only excelled but also made significant contributions. His last decade was spent in service to others, as he worked tirelessly to assist individuals in drug rehabilitation. His commitment to helping those in need showcased the depth of his compassion and his desire to make a difference in the world.
Away from work, Frank was a true Boston sports fan, cheering for his teams with fervor and loyalty. He relished trips to Vegas, where he enjoyed the thrill of the game and the vibrant atmosphere. A connoisseur of life's finer pleasures, Frank could often be found savoring a good cigar while discussing the latest films, a testament to his love for movies and good conversation.
As we bid farewell to Frank, we carry forward the memories of his laughter, the wisdom he imparted, and the love he shared. His legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. Frank Joseph Sarrategui will be deeply missed, but his light will forever shine in the hearts of his family, friends, and all the lives he touched.
