He was born on December 13, 1933, to Katherine H. and Frank R. Schaumberg in Orange, NJ, the third of six siblings, and grew up in Short Hills, NJ. He was predeceased by his wife Janet; his parents; and his older brother, Conrad.

A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Corinna Center Cemetery, Corinna Center Road, Corinna, with Pastor Jon Ouellette officiating. Military honors will be presented for his service to our country.
